A tribute to the women who quietly carried entire worlds on their shoulders.
This hand-painted ceramic plate is inspired by traditional Romanian village life and the generations of women whose hands shaped the rhythms of the countryside. Dressed in traditional clothing and seated beside a humble vessel, the figure at the centre feels both real and remembered — a reflection of grandmothers, mothers, and great-grandmothers whose stories continue to live on through memory.
Growing up, these women felt as permanent as the landscape itself. They gathered fruit, tended gardens, preserved recipes, shared wisdom, and taught us that beauty could be found in the simplest rituals of everyday life. Only later do we realise how much they gave us.
The earthy palette of warm browns, soft blues, and hand-drawn foliage echoes the colours of Romanian fields at the end of summer. The plate carries a sense of nostalgia, heritage, and belonging — a small reminder of where we come from and the roots that continue to shape us.
Whether displayed on a wall, styled on a shelf, or used to serve food around the table, this piece brings a feeling of warmth and storytelling into the home.
Part artwork, part memory.
